Every year Ed Morrison will donate a bicycle in memory of his wife Bernadette Morrison for the biggest fish caught in the derby. This years winner is Carissa Reader who caught a 15" bass.

The Annual Woodbury Heights Lake Fishing Derby was held with much success on sunny Saturday, June 6 from 8:30 to noon. This community event, sponsored by the Kickin’ Bass Fishing Club in conjunction with the Woodbury Heights Lake Association, snagged a wonderful turn-out of all ages. There were 85 registered participants and 135 Bass, Bluegill, Crappies, and Catfish caught and released. Prizes were awarded by categories. In the age five and under group, Keiran Dougherty caught twelve for the most fish, Olivia Kupsey caught the largest fish at 11.25 inches, and Brendan Meekins caught the smallest fish at 5.25 inches. In the age six to eight group, Kyle Booth, Jake Counselor, Jake McConville, Joseph Villari, Kirk Smith, Haley Morison, and Sean Harris tied for catching the most fish at one each. Joseph Villari caught the largest fish at 11.25 inches, and Jake Counselor caught the smallest fish at 6.5 inches. In the age nine to eleven age group, Abby Moniz caught twenty three (the most fish), Corrine Snyder and Jarred Kupsey tied for catching the largest fish at 12.75 inches, and Abby Moniz caught the smallest fish at 6 inches. In the age twelve to fourteen age group, Connor Groggin caught eight (the most fish), Karissa Reeder caught the largest fish (a Bass) at 15.5 inches (to win for her age group and overall largest fish of the day), and Jake Mezis caught the smallest fish at 6 inches. There were three participants in the fifteen to sixteen age group with no fish biting, but not for lack of trying!
