CHARLES PLOCHUCK 60, 2005
Obit.
CHARLES PLOCHOCK, 60, of MANASQUAN, died suddenly on Sunday, May 15, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center,
Neptune, after a brief illness. Born in Orange, he lived in Roseland and then Manasquan for approximately 25 years. A Montclair
State College graduate, he was a defensive end on the football team. He was a bartender at Tierney's, Montclair and others
in the Shore area for years. His family spent many summers in Lavallette where he was a lifeguard. An avid reader and history
buff, Charlie would read for hours on the beach. I think the History Channel was broadcast just for him. He began his career
as a high school history teacher and was part owner of the Manasquan Weight Room. He loved the outdoors and worked as a landscaper
in later years.
Charlie is survived by his companion, Jane Harrison; and his beloved "knucklehead" Quigley..............

I shared a place at Ortly Beach the summer of Woodstock, 1969, with Charlie, and I'm surprised he lasted this long.
He flipped his Jeep driving drunk one night in Seaside Heights. It took them all summer to fix it. He used to climb
on the roof of our house and ambush me with beer bottles yelling "Grenade!!" when I came back from the beach carrying
the12 ft. surfboard I bought from Joe Hibbs. Free booze when Charlie tended bar, but watch his temper! He
chased Megill across the campus for yelling "BOO!!" and making him jump..... T.
